About United Union of Roofers
The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers is one of the oldest building and construction trade Unions in the United States. Our history dates back to the formation of the International Slate and Tile Roofers Union of America which was chartered in 1903. In 1906 the International Brotherhood of Composition Roofers, Damp and Waterproofers Workers was Chartered. The two organizations operated independently until 1919, they merged to form the United Slate, Tile, and Composition Roofers, Damp and Waterproofers Workers Association. Then in 1978 at the 21st convention the title was change to our present name The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers.
